Opposition party Warns Government and people against plots from Djibouti & Mogadishu

Chairman of the opposition Justice and Welfare party, Mr. Faisal Ali Warabe, in a press conference held here on Wednesday said; “Internal and external plots are being planned to destroy and dismantle the existence of Somaliland as a sovereign state. We urge the government to rise from its political, economical and defense hibernation and the people to be aware of the plots that are aimed to disrupt their destiny”.

Mr. Faisal Ali Warabe stated that the neighboring government of Djibouti is at present planning to create confrontation between the different clans who live in West Awdal region as part of the larger plan to dismantle the Republic of Somaliland.

Speaking about the conditions in Eastern Sanag he said; “There are different mobilizations in the organizations to hold different conferences with a similar aim which is against the Republic of Somaliland.”

He said; “A Somaliland clergy conference is being organized in parallel with a conference by a group from the communities in East Sanaag which is trying to announce East Sanag as a Regional State which is free from the Jurisdiction of Somaliland.”

The opposition Justice and Welfare party (UCID) chairman quoting what he described as informed and reliable sources from Mogadishu said; “Terrorist actions are being planned in Mogadishu with the aim of carrying them in Somaliland to destroy stability, security and peace that exists.

Mr. Faisal, also referred that a third conference which is being organized by the clergy and which calls itself the Forum for the implementation of Sharia Law to be part and parcel of the plots which are being planned against the existence of Somaliland.

Speaking about a recently held Conference of Somaliland Nationals held in Washington, he said; “The Conference organized by individuals who are remnants of the late Siyad’s regime was a failure. These individuals have been secretly plotting against Somaliland for the last 15 years by trying to misinform the International Community by spreading propaganda which was completely different from the real situation that exists in the country. The BBC Somali Service has been used by them as a last resort when they realized that recognition of Somaliland was not far and is imminent. These individuals, I am sure, will leave in disgrace and self-condemnation for the rest of their lives.” “The BBC Somali Service has recently become un-objective and partial with its Editor backing his clan. The Somali people are wondering when the BBC Somali Service has become part of Horn Afrik radio (A Radio Stations that exist in Mogadishu).”

In its Press Conference, the Opposition Justice and Welfare party, call on the people and the government to be aware and cautious of the Websites and Radio Stations that support the Islamic Courts Union (ICU), which continuously spread propaganda that are against the people and the Republic of Somaliland.

“The party calls on the people to be vigilant against internal and external enemies, give hand to the Security forces through secure stability and peace in the country and be aware of the secret plots that are camouflage in the implementation of the Sharia Law. The party also calls on the government to be ready to defend the country and its people from these dangerous plots that are aimed to maim existence of this Republic, which has been found after a lot of sacrifice,” he said
